Drawn back to the charm of tree‑lined Lincoln Park, the clients envisioned a home that honors its original character while embracing the demands of modern living

A 1970s addition was reworked to better connect with the house and its newly landscaped gardens. The family room, now wrapped in nearly 12-foot French doors, is flooded with light. Hidden roller shades were integrated into the arched jambs, offering privacy without compromising the architecture or flow to the terrace beyond.

Working closely with local artisans, the design team restored and expanded upon surviving elements like the original front doors and pocket doors. These pieces became touchstones for a broader material language, guiding the integration of heirloom-quality craftsmanship with new finishes, textures, and subtle contemporary moments.

Design decisions throughout were made to feel layered and lived-in, as if the home had evolved over time through thoughtful renovations. Arched French doors, custom millwork, and richly toned materials reference multiple design periods, creating a home that feels collected rather than recreated.
