Beyond the Studio: A Visit to Evanston Lumber

Our team recently spent the afternoon at Evanston Lumber and the Marvin Design Gallery in Lake Bluff, gaining a deeper look into the materials that shape our work. From framing lumber and cedar to custom windows and trim, the visit allowed offered a behind-the-scenes view of how thoughtful sourcing, fabrication, and innovation come together to support great design.

The tour gave us the opportunity to explore how texture, performance, and longevity intersect in every material choice. Seeing the process firsthand reminded us that strong design is built on relationships with both the people and the products that make each project possible.

We left inspired by Evanston Lumber’s depth of knowledge and continued commitment to craft. Experiences like this strengthen how we approach material selection and detail development and ensure that every decision we make is grounded in both design intent and trusted expertise.
